Memorial Day week-end at Carmen's "Wild Wings" - 2003

With almost 40 people and a total of 11 airplanes, Carmen's memorial day week-end camp-out was an astounding success.  The airplanes that flew in were, Dan Beltrami in his T-craft, Russ Cooper in his Stinson, Julian Graham in his 140 Cessna, George Wilde in his Pacer, George's son-in-law Mike in his Super Cub, Bob Sells in his PA-12, Brian Watkins in his Super Cruiser, then later in his Beechcraft Sundowner, Jon Haas in his 150, Reese Thompson in his 150 and then Chuck Hamm in his Stearman.  What a sight to have all these airplanes on this 900 foot grass mountain strip!  Those of us who arrived Friday night watched a scary movie powered by a 12 volt battery pack.  The rest of the week-end we all ate a lot of food, shot arrows, fired bullets, hiked, explored and did a lot of story telling around the campfire and on the decks.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves tremendously.  If you weren't there, you missed a wonderful, fun filled holiday week-end.  Maybe next year?
